I realized it while sitting in my cubical at work one day. "It" was that I couldn't do the cube life anymore and I needed to break free and follow my passion. Somewhere along the line I had been living a life and following a path that everyone else told me was success. But it made me anxious. I felt anxiety every day sitting in my cubical, wondering if this is what is really in store for me? I had so many ideas and thoughts rolling around in my head about what I really wanted to be doing. After working a full time job, I didn't have time to put any of these thought bubbles on paper. As a creative, that is one of the most frustrating things…to have so many ideas in mind but not be able to act on any of them. But I believe this is where God has led me to be. To build relationships with people and document the most important moments in their lives. And I feel freedom in doing so.
This quote from Steve Jobs speaks so loudly to me:
"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." - Steve Jobs
Stay true to yourself. Follow your dreams. Reach for the stars. Don't let others opinions detour you from doing what you really love. Have the courage to listen to your intuition.
May you all be inspired on this fabulous Friday to follow your dreams and reach for the stars!
All The Best,
